Simply beautiful! By MarciaDVL

Ever dreamed to play this beautiful instrument? Well, I simply couldnt! And yet, I am spending time now making lovely melodies and enchanting my friends with it! What a pleasure it is to play virtual Koto! Oh, yes! It is of course worth it!

Very good

One of the Best Music Apps

High quality notes. Enough notes to play pretty much any Japanese/Asian melodies without having to swipe the screen or anything. Clean and functional UI. Ability to change scales as needed. I dont understand why people complain about not being able to play multiple notes cleanly. This is a Koto, not a grand piano. Have some musical sense!

Great instrument

I think of the many instruments Ive purchased Ive probably spent the most time with this one. The samples are good quality and unlike what the other reviewer stated, it can play several notes together with out cutting each other off. You can bend each string which is good (though this is where the sound becomes a little more electronic than natural.) This app also provides three pre-recorded songs and you can record up to three of your own creations. You can also play along with any of these songs which I enjoy. I do wish that there was a simple way of varying the force each string is plucked perhaps by where you touch the string. If you like the sound of this instrument then I think you will enjoy using this app and the price seems fair.

Wonderful

Ive loved the koto since I first heard Vivaldis 4 season played on it. This app while bending the strings seems a bit clumsy but over all delightful.

Very beautiful!

Relaxing, good quality sound good playability and customizeable Thank you for this great app!

Love it!

Its great for what it does. Keep it updated!!!

bravo bravissimo!

very good app

Great fun!

Love playing this app. Great to take your mind off the day, like a study break or something

Sakura

Easy 2 play, attractive display, tuned perfectly 2play "sakura" very simply; cheap fun 4 the non-musically-inclined; rec/playbk function is a plus.

i like i like

for some reason, this app makes sense. the scale is all you need to get started - though itd be nice to be able retune the strings and at least be able pitch bend a bit by pressing down on the other side of the string. not bad gclue!

Jsch

Great sound :) one suggestion; the ability to hold one note and play another :p

Very relaxing, would be perfect if

It saves the performances and allows longer note when you hold the string longer. But maybe this instrument is designed for even notes...

Love it!

It is true what they say in the reviews. I have to agree with a lot of people, that we should be able to adjust the strings, and have bends. I cant wait for the updates, perhaps you can enable an option to have cherry blossoms falling (with an option to set speed, number of blossoms, etc) while playing the koto.

Just sublime!!!

The sounds are accurate and the instrument is unusual but addictive and captivating, its true. Every one of my friends with an iPhone have immediately downloaded it after listening to just a few notes. You should not hesitate either. This app is a gift at $.99. I so dig it!!!

Version 2 is great!

Pitch Bending. 11 Scales. And you can turn off the opening. 3 memory locations. Version 2 is GREAT! Thanks for the update!

Great app

Thanks for the update! Love that you can tune to other scales and bend notes! Would also love to see a shamisen and shakuhachi app!

Sweet

A real instrument indeed Love it Thank you!

Just plain fun

I just got back from a year in Japan where I took private koto lessons, so I guess Im kind of partial to this, but its a blast! Look into this before going and getting an ocarina!! The feature that lets you been the strings (and notes) is what makes it perfect. Could have been more aesthetically pleasing, if you want to be picky, though.
