Superb

This app is unbelievable I am a traditional koto player and travel around the world and when we are on the bus or in the hotel I can use ikoto to run through ideas the sound quality is excellent it has great latency much better than some apps on the iPhone and for 2 dollars this app is a steal.

Ok but crashes limit enjoyment

Sounds good. It crashes every time I go to settings or change note on 3rd sample song. 1st gen iPod touch. Will update review if they fix the bugs. Edit: added a star. Seems like the problem with crashes only occurs at low battery. After my battery was charged I didnt have any of the crashes going into the settings, etc.

Realistic koto

So far my most favorite app since this is closest I can get to a real one since they cost a lot and havent been made in years. Ive noticed its recommended to connect to desktop speakers to get the true sound.

Asian Beauty

This instrument is truelly a sound of Asian Beauty. I am a music major in College and I have always favored the minor scales and the church modes, as well as the pent scale. I love this sound and now I can play whenever I want... It is a very emotional sound! Great Buy... Im happy.^_^

The best

No one had topped this app in music yet. Simply amazing

Fun and relaxing.

Hi, Ive paid for many applications and games but this iKoto really is a fun application. I was reminded that ive always wanted to learn and own one. Use it to relax! Great fun!

A sweet, performance useable synthesizer

I love this app. Im an elementary music teacher and used it for the intro to a Chinese folk song in concert. The sound is wonderful, the playing interface is absolutely easy to use. I love the variety of the scales and it has made me learn more about various tunings or scales. You can record what you play and play it back easily. All that and it looks beautiful on the iPod Touch screen. I cant think of a single thing to make it better. Maybe develop some other instruments, such hammered dulcimer or something. A gong app would be awesome. Besides all that, the sound is soothing, just perfect for sitting around in the dentists waiting room! Oh, I know, add a way to add ambient sounds like a fountain, or surf or the rustling leaves..... getting a little New Age-ish here. Look out Kitaro : )

Wonderful app!

I actually learned to play the koto in graduate school, though not as well as Id have liked. The pitch bend always made me nervous because if youre not careful, you can make the tuning pieces fall over with a nerve-wracking clatter. No fear of that here! The only suggestion Id make concerns pitch bend. The default is one full tone up whereas sometimes it should be a semitone, depending on the tuning.

problem downloading...

Hi! There was a problem downloading this and its not completely functional. Is there a way I can download it again without having to pay again? Thanks!

Amazing

My favorite app of all time. Lots of fun and sounds good too.

Needs...

1) Full iPhone 4 support. Note: I will put five stars when I see the above updated.

Well worth 1.99

I was a bit skeptical when downloading this app mostly because of the really small price. I have to say I was shocked when I opened up this app to find an amazing musical instrument on my phone. I would give this app 5 stars over and over if I could, but if youre a fan of Japanese culture and music this is the app you will want!

Nice but crashes

This crashes every time I try to transfer a song on an iPod 4. Nice sound though.

Beautiful

Very nice app, love it. I wish there was an update. Hope to see one soon.

Great app

This app is easy to use, its in tune ( a lot of instrument apps arent) and its fun :)

Great app!!

This is a great app and it has wonderful sound but it crashes when I open it sometimes.

Very relaxing

Even if you are not a musician, you can play without making a bad face or smashing device on floor. Thank You!

Great!!

This is one of my favorite apps!

Yay iPhone 5 screen support!!!!!!!!

It does make a huge difference :-) ( my original review bellow) I originally bought ikoto HD for my iPad. After I got the iPhone I was sad to see that version would only work on the iPad. Though the iPhone version has less features it still gets the job done and all the stress of the day melts away. Im not a huge fan of paying twice for an app but this is one that is worth it!!!
